Recreation. There are several parks and open spaces ideal for recreation, including two which are especially worth a visit.
The Norman Leddy Memorial Gardens is designated as one of the borough's gardens of excellence.
The gardens are laid out in formal style, with a wide range of trees, shrubs, herbaceous perennials and bulbs, providing colour and interest throughout the year.
The peaceful and tranquil nature of this site has also made it a popular location for the planting of commemorative trees and shrubs. There is a well used network
of paths most of which form part of the borough's Access Trails, which are walks for disabled people. The infrastructure of these gardens allows circular and
linear walks for people of all ages and abilities. © www.hillingdon.gov.uk
Lake Farm Country Park is a relatively large expanse of open land situated to the south of Hayes, Middlesex. Approximately 60 acres in size,
Lake Farm Country Park consists of open grassland with small blocks of scrub, with a larger expanse of scrub in the south adjacent to the canal in an area known
as the Woolpack hills. A trail runs through the park and there are two more formal open spaces in the NE part of the park, with short-cut crass, trees and kids
play areas. Lake Farm Country Park also has a BMX track on the western side and there are plans to build a skate facility in the near future.
