HISTORY
The Grand Union Canal connects England's two largest cities, London and Birmingham. Its meandering course takes it 135 miles (217 km) and it has 160 locks.

The Walks
I feature two walks along the Grand Union Canal at this time.
The first walk begins in Cassiobury Park, Watford. It takes us through the park, beside the children's play area to the canal, then northwest some two miles to the lock at Lady Capel's Wharf. This walk takes us through some of the most picturesque bridges on the Grand Union Canal.
